HOW TO GET TO OSHKOSH

Oshkosh is located in the east central portion of Wisconsin. For those who wish to drive to EAA OSHKOSH '95, the city and Convention site are easily accessible from several major highwaysÑ Highway 41, for those traveling from the north or south; Highways 44 or 21 if you're traveling from the west; and Highway 151 if you're arriving from the southwest.

Oshkosh and the surrounding area are also served by several airports and numerous airlines. The airports and their locations are listed below. You are encouraged to make your reservations early, especially for rental vehicles.

For those who wish to fly their own airplane to EAA OSHKOSH '95, FAA NOTAMs (which include detailed arrival and departure procedure information) will be published in early July. This information will be included with the July issue of Sport Aviation, the EAA's monthly publication. FAA NOTAMs will also be available from any FAA Flight Service Station.

OSHKOSH is served by Greyhound Bus Lines.

WHERE TO STAY

Accommodations are naturally at a premium during the EAA Fly-In Convention, so it is advisable to make your reservations early. Visitors to EAA OSHKOSH stay in hotels, bed- and-breakfasts, campgrounds, university dorms and private housing for a 75-mile radius around Oshkosh. Thousands of EAA members also choose to stay in EAA Camp Scholler right on the Convention grounds or in the Transient or Showplane camping areas along the flight line.

A complete housing referral service for hotels and motels, dormitories, public campgrounds and private housing is operated as a service of the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau. Grocery store, ice, well water, electric, picnic tables, recreation room, Antique Museum, shuttle service available, showers, playgrounds, laundry, sanitary disposal station and propane gas is available.

Eureka Dam Campsites, Inc. 9361 Eureka Lock Road Omro, WI 54963 (414) 685- 5441 Located 18 miles west of Oshkosh on the Upper Fox River. 50 campsites, some pull- through. RVs, tents, etc. Electric, water and dump station. Picnic tables, boat rentals, tackle, bait and ice. No showers.

Heated swimming pool, stocked trout pond (no license required), sandy beach, free nine-hole par-3 golf course and large game room.

Fond du Lac KOA Campground W5099 Hwy. B Fond du Lac, WI 54935 (414) 477- 2300 Located 25 miles south of Oshkosh. 74 campsites plus six cabins. Electric, water and sewer sites available. Dump station, convenience store, laundromat, game room and bathrooms with shower facilities.

Flanagan's Pearl Lake Campground 3187 Pearl Lake Road Redgranite, WI 54970 (414) 566-2758 Located 26 miles west of Oshkosh. 100 available sites with water/electric. Laundry facilities, showers, swimming, playground, game room, hiking and retail store.

EAA CAMPGROUNDS

Camp Scholler Located adjacent to the Convention site for vehicle/tent camping only. Must be an EAA member to camp. Approximate space size is 20'x30'. Shower facilities and portable toilets, RV pumping station, portable pumping services and bottled gas. Access to food outlets and Country stores. Separate area for the handicapped, 24-hour use of generators and those who bring pets. Electric and water hookups not available. NO PRE- REGISTRATIONÑTHREE DAY MINIMUM ASSESSED. Pay through event (from time of set-up through the end of the Convention).

No. 40 Transient/Showplane Located on the Convention site. Aircraft camping only. Must be an EAA member to camp. Shower facilities, portable toilets and access to food outlets and Country stores. No vehicles or pets allowed. Aircraft in this area must be tied down. NO PRE REGISTRATIONÑTHREE DAY MINIMUM ASSESSED. Pay through event (from time of set-up through the end of the Convention).

Must be an EAA member to camp. Daily rates in EAA Campgrounds only are $7.00 per night from date of arrival through Monday, July 17, and $13 per night from Tuesday, July 18, or the date of arrival, through Aug. 2. Those departing before the end of Convention and meeting the stipulated three-day minimum may present their credentials for a refund for those days not used.

HANDICAPPED SERVICES

Handicapped auto parking, aircraft parking and tram service are available. Requests to bring privately : j X l bed electric vehicles (designed specifically for the handicapped and limited to two seats) should be 4 : 5 3 made in writing and accompanied by appropriate handicapped credentials. Automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, golf carts and all-terrain vehicles are not recognized as authorized vehicles for disabled persons. COLLEGE DORMITORIES

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh
2,200 rooms equipped with two twin beds, desks, chairs, dressers and closets. Restroom and shower facilities on each floor (community style). Daily rate includes towels, bed linen and pillows. Blankets, cots and cribs must be provided by individuals. Daily maid service not provided. Each residence hall provides pay telephones, 24-hour desk coverage, laundry facilities, lounges, TV rooms, vending machines and free parking. City bus service is available to the Convention site.

Daily rates are $31 per night, single/double room. Requests for accommodations should include full One and address of each person in party, daytime phone number, arrival date, departure date, single or double room and any information regarding special needs. Ripon College (19 miles west of Convention site)
300 rooms equipped with pillows, bed linen, blanket and towels. Meals not available. NO TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE.

Daily rates are $24.00 per night-single; $36.00 per person per night-double. Requests for accommodations should include full name and address of each person in party, home phone number, arrival and departure dates, and single or double room. Marian College, Fond du Lac (20 miles south of Oshkosh)
125 beds (some private, some two to a room). Each is equipped with bed linen, pillows and blankets. Continental breakfast. Daily rates are $35.00 per room and up, $10.00 for each additional person if more than two per night.

Alternate lodging available: Camping (on campus) and townhouses available. 200 beds available, either in rooms with one or two twin beds. Each are equipped with bed linen, towels and pillows. Rooms have single or double occupancy.
