U.S. Space & Rocket Center - Huntsville, Alabama
To help celebrate our Silver Anniversary, the Space Center is adding some new sights, sounds and just plain fun things to do in 1995! Here's a timetable look at what to expect:
March
"Destiny in Space" becomes a regular feature at the Spacedome Theater. This is the latest space film shot in OMNIMAX and features some breathtaking views of the Hubble Telescope service mission and a futuristic look at travel to Mars and Venus.
Summer
"Land the Shuttle." This exciting hands-on simulator offers you the opportunity to try your skill at taking the controls of the space shuttle after it re-enters earth's atmosphere. You'll need concentration and a steady hand to guide it home to a smooth landing.
Summer
"Virtual Zero G." Through the magic of computer technology and video wizardry, you have the opportunity to take a simulated space walk on this interactive experience. See if you can reach out and grab things as they "float" by.
Fall
"Space Station Alpha." You maybe asked to leave your seat in the audience and become a temporary member of the crew of a working space station. Find out firsthand what it will be like to live and work in space.
