Trip to Oshkosh 98'

An associate and fellow pilot invited me to fly his Mooney from San Jose California to Oshkosh 98. Here are a few pictures that attempt to document that trip. And here is a short narrative.

This was an interesting gyrocopter. I wouldn't bet on it yet though, it utilized a new propeller design that seemed to want to fly apart at the slightest provocation. Still needs work I think

Here is a Connie landing on 27. What was more interesting was the Bonanza that followed it. He came in too close and hit the wake about 50 feet up. After rolling 80 degrees and pitching up 20, he was able to gain control and go around. It took him two tries to get it on the ground after that. Had to clean his seat I imagine. oshkosh25.jpg
