Where: Luke AFB, 17 NM west of Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ

Why: Crosstell of information about the Midair-Collision-Avoidance (MACA) Program

  • F-16 simulator rides (limited -- lottery will be used)

  • Local pattern conflict/F-16 performance/capability briefing
  • Desert survival briefing
  • Food/Fun/Fighter squadron T-shirt sales

INTERESTED?  Check out E-mail address below to get event information and the required "Hold Harmless Agreement (HHA) form."  Download information packet and follow instructions listed on the website.  If unable to access the web, use the phone numbers below to request the information packet and HHA form.  No matter how you obtain the HHA, you must have it signed, filed out, and mailed no later than August 31, 1999 using the postal service.  The HHA form must be on file at Luke AFB prior to receiving clearance to land.   A working radio is the only required equipment to land at Luke AFB.  (NO transponder/Mode C?  Waiver available upon request with Luke APP Control.)

SKYDIVING AT ELOY
A reminder that within a 5 mile radius of the airport, aircraft are decending at 5000 feet per minute at 180 indicated airspeed and 200 pound persons are freefalling at 180 mph at and below 14500msl. Parachutes will be open at and below 5000 msl. They drop up to 23 persons every two minutes, every day, sunrise to sunset.It is suggested that you cross over the airport at or above 15000 feet msl, circumnavigate 5 miles wide of the airport, monitor 122.8 or ABQ center on 125.4. Land using right hand pattern on runway 20 and take off using left hand pattern on runway 02. Listen closely, communicate and keep your eyes scanning out of the cockpit. Let's avoid all tragedies and keep the skies safe for everyone!

Luke Air Force Base Civilian Fly-in

It is time again for the civilian fly-in at Luke Air Force Base. As many of you will recall, the first annual fly-in last year, was a great success! It promises to be even better this year, so get your reservations in early, go out to the air base (with or without your own plane), and see what the latest equipment is that is being used to defend our country.
