COPPERSTATE FLY-IN |
|
| Williams Gateway airport will once
again be the site of the annual EAA Copperstate Fly-in
October 8-11, 1998. Hundreds of Amateur- built aircraft
are expected to be flying in from all over the Western
United States to participate in the four day event. In addition to the daily air show and many displays by vendors and participants, there will be active participation by the Arizona FSDO. Inspectors from the FSDO will be located in the FAA tent to answer questions, help with problems, or just visit with people. In addition, there will be hourly presentations of interest to the amateur-built community. These will be accomplished during the hours in which the air show is not going on. The schedule of topics and speakers is not complete at this time, but we do have the following people lined up: Deby Ragozzino - Disassembly and re-assembly of a horizontally opposed reciprocating engine. Deby has done this at previous fly-ins and it has always been a popular and well attended demonstration. Bruce Bessette - Procedures for building, certifying, and maintaining an amateur-built aircraft. If you have any questions in this area, Im sure theyll be answered here. Rennie Lutz - Instruments, Avionics and you. |
Mike Halloran -
FAA<->Internet<->You. A guided tour of the
internet and what you can access at the FAA website. Other inspectors who have indicated a desire to speak, but as yet havent chosen a subject, are: Bruce Smith - An experienced and knowledgable Airworthiness Inspector. Aris Scarla - An Avionics Inspector who hasnt stuck his finger in one too many sockets. He has a common sense approach to the world of avionics. Randy Prine - An Airworhtiness Inspector, new to the agency, who brings recent industry experience to the table. And, of course, Jack Christopherson, our Operations Safety Program Manager will be there with his war chest full of stories that he is always willing to relate to anyone who wants to listen. The Copperstate fly-in promises to be an exciting and interesting experience. We, who are involved from the FAA, are looking forward to seeing you there with yet another oportunity to serve you. |
REMEMBER THE DATES: October 8-11, 1998 at the Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, AZ |
