FRESNO AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER LETTER TO AIRMEN NO. 97-3
SUBJECT: FRESNO INTERNATIONAL AIR EXPO
CANCELLATION: September 22, 1997
This letter advises all pilots that this facility will experience an increase in the number of operations from
September 19, 1997 through September 21, 1997 due to this years
Fresno International Air Expo, to be held at the
Fresno-Yosemite International Airport.
The aerobatic performances are scheduled for; September 19 from
6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and September 20 and 21 from 12:00 P.M.
to 4:30 P.M. ALL aircraft will be restricted from a five
nautical mile radius of the airport, from the surface up to and
including 15,000 feet MSL during these time periods.
While Fresno Tower and Approach Control will continue to provide standard separation to all aircraft, pilots can expect to experience some delays in IFR and VFR enroute service, and operations into and out of the Fresno-Yosemite International Airport. IFR holding and VFR holding to "REMAIN OUTSIDE OF CHARLIE
AIRSPACE" may occur due to heavy traffic volume.
All practice approaches to Fresno-Yosemite, Fresno-Chandler, Madera,
Visalia, Hanford, and Tulare airports will be limited, and some
delays can be anticipated due to heavy traffic volume and RADAR
capability. Our primary frequencies are; 119.6 9 (north of
FAT), 132.35 (south of FAT), and 118.5 (vicinity of Visalia and
Hanford).
