SIC SAC (Significant Information for Sacramento Pilots)

Pilots who want to improve their skills may wish to take advantage of the FAA’s Program titled PACE which stands for Pilot and Aircraft Courtesy Evaluation. This program consists of an FAA Inspector doing a cursory inspection of your aircraft and its records, looking for problems you may not have been able to notice. Another Inspector will then fly with you to evaluate your pilot skills.

What makes this program exceptionally attractive to pilots is the fact that no records are keep of the inspection or flight. The Evaluation is also "FREE"!

Now some pilots may have had a bad experience with the FAA, in the past, on such evaluations. To preclude this happening in the Sacramento District, Don Green and myself will go your home airport and do the evaluation there. If a problem is found on your aircraft or with your flying it could be dealt with at your home, making even a ferry permit unnecessary. Any problems found and suggestions on how to best deal with them, would then be related to you. At that point YOU would make the decision on whether to act on those suggestions or not.

This is assuming any problems would be found. As often is the case, nothing is amiss and we shake hands and go home.

I think this is a good idea. Call soon for an appointment.
If you have any suggestions to improve this letter please call me at your earliest convenience.
Good luck and Safe Flying. I’ll see you at a Meeting.
PS. Many Thanks to AVEMCO for their sponsorship of the Wings Program.
They have a part in all of our Safety Meetings.
