FRESNO AIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER LETTER TO AIRMEN NO 96-1
SUBJECT: GATHERING OF THE WARBIRDS AIRSHOW
CANCELLATION: September 23, 1996
This letter advises all pilots that this facility will experience an increased number of operations from September 20, 1996 through September 22, 1996, due to the “Gathering of the Warbirds Airshow”.
From 1200 to 1600 local the airport will be closed at various times for aerobatic performances. General aviation aircraft will be restricted to and from the airport during this time period, except for prior coordinated flights.
While Fresno Tower/TRACON will continue to provide standard separation to all aircraft, pilots can expect to experience some delays in VFR enroute advisory service. Additional delays and even VFR holding to “Remain outside of Charlie airspace” may occur due to heavy traffic volume.
All practice approaches to Fresno Air Terminal, Madera, Fresno Chanedler, Visalia, Hanford, and Tulare will be limited, and some delays can be anticipated due to heavy traffic volume and radar capability. Our primary frequencies are 119.6 (north), 132.35 (south), and 118.5 if south of Visalia and Hanford.
For more details, call us at (209) 255-5754.

SACRAMENTO CAPITOL TOWER LETTER TO AIRMEN NO. 96-3
SUBJECT: Taxiway “P” Area of Non-Visibility from Tower
CANCELLATION: April 25, 1998
Due to obstructed vision, Sacramento Capitol Tower is unable to provide airport traffic control service along Taxiway “P” at Sacramento International Airport. Any questions concerning this matter may be directed to the Air Traffic Manager at (916) 929-5151.

MONTEREY TOWER/TRACON LETTER TO AIRMAN NO. 96-2
SUBJECT: VFR Practice Instrument Approaches
CANCELLATION: November 1, 1998
This letter advises all pilots that this facility will provide standard IFR separation to all aircraft conducting a practice instrument approach to the Monterey Peninsula Airport. Our primary frequencies are 127.15 (West of a North/South line through the airport) and 133.0 (east of the line).
At other airports with published instrument approaches, within our designated airspace, pilots will receive standard IFR separation to the extent possible. These airports are: Watsonville (127.15) and Salinas (133.0).
Even though the controller may be providing standard IFR separation, pilots without an IFR clearance are still required to comply with basic visual flight rules while executing the approach procedure. If the pilot wishes to proceed in accordance with instrument flight rules, the pilot must specifically request and obtain, an IFR clearance.
After completion of a practice approach, VFR aircraft are not automatically authorized to execute the missed approach procedure. This authorization must be specifically requested by the pilot and approved by the controller. When a missed approach has been approved, IFR separation criteria will be provided throughout the missed approach.
For further information, refer to the Airman's Information Manual under "Practice Instrument Approaches", or call Monterey Tower at (408)375-1211.
